- About - SLOVENIA FOR FS X

As already mentioned, it took more than two years of preparation, research, gathering of required material and finally putting it all together, to produce this scenery.

In order not to keep You waiting for two more years for the complete product ( that is how long we are estimating for the second part to be finished), we have decided to release the scenery in two parts. Part 1, already available, covers the territory of Slovenia east of 15th meridian, giving you a coverage almost exactly half of our country. Part 2 will cover the area of Slovenia west of 15th meridian.

Included in this scenery are detailed virtual representations of 12 airports, aerodromes and airstrips. Airports with concrete runways such as: Maribor- Orehova vas (LJMB), Cerklje ob Krki (LJCE), Šoštanj- Lajše (LJVE) and Slovenj Gradec (LJSG). Airfield LJVE has a sloped runway. This feature as also presented with a grass runway at Novo mesto- Prečna (LJNM) and an airstrip at Zagorje- Ruardi. Other small airfields and airstrips detailed and featured in this scenery include: Murska Sobota - Rakičan (LJMS), Ptuj - Moškanjci (LJPT), Celje - Levec (LJCL), Slovenske Konjice - Žiče, Imeno and Metlika - Prilozje. As an addition we have also included Ljubljana international airport (LJLJ) in a temporary form, with default objects but detailed aprons and taxiways reflecting current state of the airport- something to make all the online pilots happy!

In between all the aforementioned locations there is lively AI traffic. Especially active are the military Pilatus PC 9's, on occasion You can also spot a military L-410. There is a vast collection of general aviation types buzzing around: Bellanca - Citabria, Cessna C-150, C-172, C-206, Piper Pa-18, Pa-28 Warrior, Pa-28 Archer, Pa-38, Pa-44, Polikarpov PO-2, Socata Rallye, Socata TB-10, TB-20, Robin DR-400 and Utva 75. 16 different AI models dressed up in more than 60 aircraft that are actually flying through skies of Slovenia. It can get very crowded so constant vigilance is required not to get into a midair collision- just like in real life!

This scenery is based on LOD11 mesh created from scratch with FSX scenery tools, together with corresponding land class textures that include autogen buildings at correct locations. At special points of interest we have additionally positioned 500 detailed prominent objects like the nuclear power plant at Krško, thermo power plant at Šoštanj, aluminum factory in Kidričevo, various castles, churches, monasteries, TV antennas to name but a few.

The end result of all these features is an extremely good looking scenery that is the next best thing to reality. Despite all the visual greatness, this scenery does not put any more strain on Your computer than the default scenery from FSX. On the contrary! At some locations we noticed that this scenery runs smoother than its default predecessor. The lowest specs. PC that the scenery was tested with was a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 with Nvidia GeForce 7600GT 256MB and 3GB of RAM produced smooth flying throughout the scenery with an average of 30 to 35 FPS. This means that if You are currently owning a computer that is capable of running FSX normally, You do not need to change Your hardware in order to run this detailed scenery!
